Pixel Perfect

As promised,I've captured a few test shots with my new Powershot.Well,I don't really have that artistic-photography-talent that vaguely screaming inside of me,wanting to come out. It's most definitely way below amateur bar,but anyhow here goes...

Some added effects wouldn't hurt, won't it?As I reached Shanghai tomorrow,I'll test the ability of my Powershot even more.Just hope that the shopping outlets around won't try to be so inviting that'll make me deviate my interest =P

Hear Me,Audrey

"I believe in pink.I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner.I believe in kissing, kissing a lot.I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong.I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls.I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracle"
- Audrey Hepburn

And I believe in you,Audrey....

Those words have been inspiring me for years and more years to come.

Audrey Hepburn was a living definition of grace and beauty. She was blessed with softness in her eyes and heart, among the famous humanitarians ever lived. Her talent and beauty was admirable and looked upon by generations after generations.I remembered the first movie of hers I ever watched, not Breakfast at Tiffany's,but Sabrina.I even wondered back then how was it possible that 1 girl could possess all the charms in the world that many dreamt of?Those big alluring eyes, the small framed-face with intriguing smile and the lustrous wavy dark hair...I'd kill myself to just even look like that in 1 day!

I fell in love with her even more after watching Breakfast at Tiffany's.I wished to inherit all of the hats she wore in the movie, and I even named my current kitty, which known as Billy Jean by every single gracedenna.blogspot.com reader,Cat.Well,Billy Jean is merely a commercial nickname for her as her father next door is called Thriller, when actually, everyone at home calls her Cat.Coz I clearly remembered Audrey's line in the movie saying that she didn't have the rights to name the cat that she was taking care of,therefore she called it Cat.

Audrey Hepburn is my personal idol. Not that I knew her during her living years, but I looked up to her as a mentor into becoming a gracious, yet strong young woman. Not to be vain but I've always had the gentleness and gracefulness in me since years that I could remember, but I never possess that strength and toughness.I broke down and cry with only a line of sarcasm, fell into pieces with only a pinch of harshness, and suicidal with a touch of others' skin.Sensitivity is my major weakness.Like I said, the lines above said by Audrey Hepburn was absolutely inspiring, that made me believed and still believing in her.I feel even more connected to her with interests that we generally shared. Some might notice that even my Twitter background is a portrait of her.

You might not wanna care how she was when she lived, but somehow you'll wonder what was she so famous of,when even the new generations still talked bout her.Personally, its a waste of time idolizing someone like Marilyn Monroe when you can idolize a real star,Audrey Hepburn. If I ever have the chance to tell bedtime stories to my children in the future,I'd recite some selfless lines of poems recited by Audrey Hepburn to hers.I'd remind my daughters the importance of having grace, beauty and one big hell of a heart =)

P/s : A few years ago,a very old Japanese couple insisted on taking a picture with me while transiting in Kota Kinabalu. They said I reminded them of their favourite English actress with my big eyes and 'croissant' at the back of my head, which happened to be Audrey Hepburn.I'm positive that I look nothing like her,but the fact that the old Japanese couple saw the resemblance between my idol and I made me feel special =)

"I have learnt how to live. How to be in the world and of the world, and not just to stand aside and watch."
- Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina.

Delighting You Always

Have you folks visited the Canon Roadshow at Midvalley Megamall?

What are you folks waiting for?!Today is the last day of the roadshow and you should totally grab 1 of those vividly charming Canon cameras at discounted prices with special gifts!I also just recently heard that bestie bought 1 for herself there too! =D

Sweetie Pie and I dropped by the center court last Tuesday, with hope that we could find any fetching Ixus to take home, since we are not big fans of dslr cameras. But after attacking a few promoters by the camera counters with questions related to the cameras (performance, quality and effects wise),I fell in love with this pretty young thing :

This Powershot's design is nothing compared to those fashionable Ixus but performance and picture quality wise are equally great as Ixus cameras. It is cute and light, the newest member of the Powershot family.I missed my double screened Samsung terribly though ='( That bloody camera, which lasted for only 6months,was 1 of the precious gifts that Sweetie Pie bought me.

Anyway, you'll get to see the pictures taken with my new pink baby in future entries. At the moment,I have no potential models around to shoot, except for little Billy that is flaunting her huggable furry body resentfully in front of me *rolling eyes*

Ambition

When we were younger,we were asked by the grown ups on what do we wanna do with life as we grow older. Our famous answers would either be a lawyer, doctor, scientist or teacher.Well, those were the answers that they expected to hear from us,while the truth, hell knows what we wanted to be!In my case, when I answered that I wanted to be a lawyer,my dad said "You're not witty and outspoken enough".After a few years,my answer changed into being a doctor, and again my dad countered "You tu penggeli. You couldn't even hold yourself from vomiting when somebody else was."

Growing up all I've always wanted to be was a star.Well, who doesn't right?Since I suck at singing and dancing is definitely my forte,I've always wished to be a famous gymnast or ballerina. Some never gets it when all I wanted to watch everytime a movie or new series came out was anything musical. From Grease and Rocky Horror to Center Stage,Hair Spray and Get Over It ; I've basically memorized all of the lines and lyrics of the movie soundtracks. My current obsession would be towards Glee =) It was the best news ever when I received an email from the superiors saying that I'll be performing a musical piece with the rest on Cabin Crew Night end of this year, but we'll get to that later since rehearsals will only start commencing this June.

Well, whaddaya know.I'm a proud-flying-high flight stewardess for almost 7years now with the same friggin' company.I guess we'll never get to predict what lies ahead of us.All I can say is that I was lucky enough to have found an amazing dream job at the age of 19.While others were still struggling to look for that perfect career,I've gained such precious possession in terms of experience and the never ending world exploration.Explore la sangat kan, when all I ever did was actually a never-ending-shopping.Hehe!=P

So the other day,my bestie came up to me for advice on what to do with her precious life.I must say that she has pretty intriguing options to choose from, but it is only a matter of choosing the right one.She has an enormous talent in writing, unlike myself,so I suggested her to be a writer.Who knows she could be the next J.K.Rowling or Sophie Kinsella in future, then I could immediately suggest myself to be the manager that sets her appointments with various publishers!=D

Note that next-JK Rowling face on the left =D
After 6-long-hours of career crisis discussion,I sure deserved that big size-of-my-head pink rose from her =D

Not just her though. Both Mr Fiance and baby brother are still looking for that perfect career to pursue on permanently. Not that I know much bout engineering, but it seems that they are not quite satisfied with the positions they are holding at the moment. No matter what all of these darlings of mine are pursuing in the future,I'll just pray for the best of their undertakings.

To those who are experiencing the same situation,my advice would be take it slow and do what your heart desires.Hopefully its not robbing or taking over the world =P

Hot Summer in Perth

Unlike my previous trips to Perth, this time I'd to endure with the humidity and extreme hot weather  in Perth. It wasn't as bad as summer in Dubai but they were getting there.

Putting aside the climate,it was one of the most enjoyable Perth trip I've ever experienced.Light load of passengers with the opportunity to rest as a deadhead crew on the 777 all the way up to Perth, marvelous set of crew members and to finally get to see the whole sight of Perth on the Hop On and Off Tour Bus,but we'll get to that later.

A scary experience occurred to us right after we arrived in Perth on the lovely evening of 26th February. After arriving, the whole bunch of us decided to get some dinner before hitting the beds.As humid the weather was that evening,we still decided to take a brisk evening walk with full stomachs along the empty streets of Perth. You know how Australia is when sunlight is no longer at sight, shops will all be closed with little signs of people wandering around. Not long after,we heard loud noises ahead of us,as if they were people quarreling and fighting. Our guess was right. There was a number of male youngsters fighting with each other in the middle of the road, while the girls at the side of the road were either screaming of yelling, trying to break the fight! It was something I've never seen before! It seemed to me that the group of youngsters were divided into two clans (which was white and black),and they were against each other.Racism alert!People walking around stopped by the curb of the road to witness the scene and they all (including us) gasped when 1 of the white boys fell hard on the ground and stopped moving after being attacked viciously by a black one.Without further thoughts,I quickly took my camera out and snapped a picture of the crime scene without realizing that the camera flash was in ON mode!Yikes!

You might wanna click on this image to zoom in.

Seeing a white bright flash, the group of blacks started making a quick movement towards us and the only word that came out of my mouth was "Uh-oh!".Panic started hitting on us and we slowly took a few paces back. The black guys dashed pass us,when we realized it wasn't my flash that alerted them after all!Two really tall big sized policemen in bicycles were chasing after them from the opposite side of where we were standing.Unlucky for the youngsters, there were another two backups that stood not far behind us,exactly at the direction where the blacks were running towards. All of them were told to remain silent and keep still while the big guys made a thorough search on their bodies. It amazed me on how obedient the young criminals were towards the policemen's orders. The chaos didn't end there, after a few paramedics attended the still body that lay on the ground,1 of guys frm the white clan got really upset and went towards the arrested black guys.We didn't stay to witness what happened next as we were too terrified of the tragedy that just happened right under our noses. All we could think of was reaching the hotel safely.

The next sunny day,two other girls and I decided to take a tour around the city on the Hop On and Off bus.Our Plan A was to visit the Caversham Wildlife Park outside of Perth and take pictures with our little furry friends, the koala bears and kangaroos, but the weather was horrible and we could actually suffered heat stroke by exposing ourselves too much under the hot sizzling sun.So we ended up sticking to Plan B which was hoping from point A to point B,including some shopping at the Harbour Town Factory Outlet stores.

Before reaching Harbour Town,we dropped by a few places that was worth seeing such as the Barrack Street Jetty, the Bell Tower, and Kings Park Botanic Garden. The places were magnificent, with great views of the whole city!

When we finally reached Harbour Town,of course we did what all girls do best,SHOPPING!We seriously shopped til we dropped and ran out of Aussie dollars.I spent all of my dollars on my favourite brand outlet,Forever New!We don't have its outlet in Malaysia,so I only get to see its' darling lines of clothing whenever I visit Africa and Aussie.According to Asha, they just recently opened an outlet in Auckland too.Yeay!!No girls' can resist the temptation of Forever New,seriously!

After Perth,we spent a night in Kota Kinabalu.Nothing much to tell,as I spent the whole day hibernating in the hotel room as if it was winter in KK.Heh =D

Well,I guess that was it,folks.Hoping I won't bump into a bunch of gangsters on the streets again on my next trip to Perth =P You folks have a great weekend!<<--same old line

Narita Kara Kaesa Reru

While I was packing my big check-in bag for my trip to Narita Tokyo, just a few minutes before my company transport arrived,Ayah asked me "Did you manage to change any yens?".I solemnly answered "Not planning to go out.I've packed my book and food along",when suddenly Ayah generously handed me 14000yens to be spent in Tokyo!Imagine how surprised I was!But at tht moment,I had no time to ask what really hit him on the head earlier before he decided to hand me a generous amount of money to spend as the E-smart cab outside had been waiting for almost 5minutes.Not tht Ayah has always been stingy, but he barely pampered his children with cash rolling out of his pocket without earning it first. While still in the state of shock,I took out my iPhone after getting into the cab and quickly converted the amount of yens given into RM.After seeing the calculated amount on the screen,I couldn't hide the wide grin spread on my face throughout my journey to KLIA =D

Little that I know,it was Cats' Day in Japan when we arrived safely on the 22nd of February. You folks know how hopelessly devoted I am to cats,so once I switched on the tv in my hotel room and saw a special documentary on cats to celebrate the day couldn't make my morning in Japan sunnier =D I fell asleep halfway through the show and woke up at noon to go out spending every single yen that was mounting in my purse,so off to the nearest Aeon Mall I went.

Well,Aeon malls in Japan aren't anything like Jusco malls in Malaysia.Believe me when I say they have a Hard Rock Cafe and branded outlets such as Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger in theirs, coz I've been to more than just 1 Aeon mall in Japan.Classy huh?To my surprise,I spent the yens I have wisely by spending them on an expensive golf underlayer shirt for Ayah,Hard Rock Couture t-shirts for Ibu and Asha and a 1000yen (which was RM30++) but very comfy knee length boots for myself.See?I can be pretty responsible with money that wasn't mine, you know.I managed to prioritize others before myself.Kudos to me!=D

After hours of shopping,my colleagues and I took a break by enjoying our sushi sets at the food court.Yummss!!

When taking this picture,my colleague said "Hey,you have bunny teeth!I never realized them til now!".Then I answered "My pet name is Bunny, given by my fiance. Not even 'Sayang' or 'Darling'" while chewing my bits of sushi. They laughed.Mind my messy hair in the above pic.The wind outside was blowing like hell with the ground temperature of 2degrees Celsius.

Anyway, when I got back home,I couldn't be happier seeing my family members extremely pleased with the gifts I bought for them.Well, not exactly from my very own pocket though. So my trip to Japan this time seemed to be the best so far, excluding tht time when I went to visit Tokyo Disneyland.Totemo yokatta! =D

Oh,I totally forgot to tell you folks a little detail.Japan has been my favourite destination ever, among other destinations, since the day I 1st stepped into the country back in 2005.I can speak their language too,to be honest poorly, but language never seems to be the barrier for me to stop adoring the country, alongside with their culture, people and advanced technology. But like they said, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

The Usual Satur-date

Actually, earlier today Sweetie Pie and I went for a slightly unusual than our usual dates.Mainly because we diverted our usual routines and venues to a whole new one.

We started our date with a visit to the big Pos Malaysia office in Sepang. When we were 'invited' there,it came with a package of great and bad news. The great news,my 2nd barang hantaran for the wedding has arrived!=)I will not tell you folks what was it or where it was flown from,or it'll ruin the surprise. But let tell me you this, once you're a stewardess you hardly spend your pennies on anything selling in your own country. When you're traveling,of course you can't help yourself frm buying stuffs at the destination you're at,but when you're home you'll somehow find a way to buy the stuffs you desire through online shopping websites.Shopping complexes nearby seem to be your last resort of getting the things you want.Don't get me wrong,I don't despise Malaysian made stuffs, the government has my full support on them. But then again there's nothing wrong fancying imported stuffs.Oh yeah,I've told you the great news so now the bad news. The bad news would be having to pay an amount of tax to the custom.Luckily it was only 10% frm the original price of the purchase.

After an hour being held at the post office,we headed to Gardens Midvalley for tea time.I finally fulfilled my crave for Delicious' chocolate pavlova while Sweetie Pie was happily munching its famous chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream.Just wondering,is it possible to make a 3 story high pavlova and beautifully design it into a wedding cake?A pavlova instead of a cake designed with an RMC and TKC school logos on it..Haha.Absolutely and 100% joking!Chill ladies..I was just expressing my thoughts through my entries in the blog. This blog is meant to be written and read, but it never meant any harm. Like they always said and I applied,IF YOU HAVE NOTHING NICE TO SAY,SHUT UP!So this blog is the only medium I have to express myself as I was never 'designed' to be outspoken, though I sometimes wished I was.Not 'designed' to be outspoken is 1 thing, not trashing others that are UNKNOWN and IRRELEVANT to me is another. If I were to be a big-mouthed mean girl, would've criticized any stiff or moving anonymous that didn't seem right to my eyes!If my darling loved ones including Sweetie Pie could respect the fact that I'm all sweet and sugary outside but very expressive through lettered words,I think you should start respecting it too.But I must say that I'm pretty flattered knowing that you all have been among my loyal blog readers.Too loyal til it hurts eh?;)Any hurtful statements to be complained bout, you are free to speak your mind by calling Sweetie Pie at his mobile again or even better to have a direct contact with me.Being a gentlewomen is always a better option than being completely childish coz all of us are getting to that point of being a wife, soon a mother, and perhaps a grandmother in future. So why would we wana start a collection of enemies now, right? As far as I'm concerned I'm a happy girl with none,so I never feel like collecting any.Even a colleague who used to be calling me with nasty names and trashing me in front of others (without any solid reason, and Ibu convinced me it was 100% pure jealousy) had suddenly decided to put the past behind and been treating me nicely coz I never retaliated her attacks. But if you've already decided to mark me as an enemy and the target for you to pick on,it's absolutely and entirely your prerogative.I never intended to hurt anyone (you might wana go through the lines in my previous entry again as you might notice nothing ludicrous was said about any of u) except for the innocent cake and the pantyline (which I didn't notice til the guys started making a big deal out of it) =)

Enough with the heavy talk and let's get bck on track, folks! So after tea time,we checked out 'Black Swan' and 'No Strings Attached' at Signatures, but none of their screening time fitted our schedule. You might not believe this, but since the year 2011 started,I barely did any shopping besides buying the usual necessary toiletries and makeup.Been spending every penny wisely, saving up for the big day's preparations, although my parents have decided to be the major funder and cover at least 80% of the funds needed for the ceremony.Since I am lacking of materials to be casually worn,I decided to look for some and ended up with tank tops frm Guess...wait for it....KIDS!Tank tops frm Guess Kids!I never could have guessed that I could fit into size S/M of Guess Kids' tops until Sweetie Pie suggested it to me as they were cuter and slightly smaller than an adult's S size which were perfect fits for me.Tried it on as soon as I got home and wallla!Sweetie Pie was right!

Before heading home,we went somewhere unusual for dinner.Like I said earlier, unusual routine, venue and purchase.Sweetie Pie took me to Hartamas where a beautiful condominium called Puncak Prima stood which soon will be our home after being a married couple, before having dinner.Just by looking at the condo,I already felt some flying kicks in my stomach which was anxiety of wanting to be married to Sweetie Pie badly and living a happy life in our future home=DThen we went to Solaris Mont Kiara,a place we've nvr been to together and had dinner there.Soon, all the area in Hartamas and Mont Kiara will be our playground once we've started living there.A playground that we are not familiar of,that's for sure.

By the way,I'll not be expecting to write any entries in another few days ahead as I'll be flying to 1 country and another bck to bck. There's lack of mercy towards the cabin crews lately, for reasons we don't really know. But I'm not complaining, despite the fact that my legs are still crying in pain due to the endless walks in the cabin on Bombay flight yesterday='(

Have a good weekend anyway folks!=)

January - February

Miss Denna is back!!

Have you folks been missing me?Hmm...lets see...Probably not,but I've missed you folks anyway. So lets get started with the recent agendas in my not so intriguing life, shall we?

January 6th-10th
Started off the year of 2011 with a Dubai trip.So little time in Dubai with so many things to do,but most importantly,I got to fix a date for a girl-day-out with my future sister-in-law,Azzura,at Dubai Mall.Well, for your info,Kak Ra,is a flight attendant for UAE's national carrier which is Emirates, and I felt so honored that she got to spend some of her precious time to hang out with her dear lil sis here.We met up at Dubai Mall for lunch at a fancy Japanese fusion restaurant, then followed by some shopping and hot gossips, and the day was wrapped by 2 cups of frappucino at Starbucks. It was really great spending time with Kak Ra,since she was hardly around during family gatherings or events back in KL.The day after,I departed frm Dubai to Dammam,Saudi Arabia. There's only 1 way to describe Dammam,a deserted land full of men.For the 1st time in my life,I was scared of walking around the airport and outside in our body hugging short kebaya as all of the hungry looking men's eyes were on us as we walked passed them. The women there are allowed to only wear loose fitting black robes with their heads covered,so girls in tight kebayas is not something that they often see.The best thing bout Dammam would be our accommodation there at Ramada Apartment Hotel with complimentary buffet breakfast in the morning =)

January 14th-19th
Enough bout Dubai, now lets jump to South Africa. In the evening of 14th January,I was called for a Johannesburg flight while on standby at home.At 1st I wondered, why on earth would someone reported sick for such flight? The amount of off days in Joburg was more than enough and the total allowances for the trip was pretty rewarding too.But then,I just felt grateful with what I got and stopped questioning irrelevant stuffs.Kata orang, rezeki jangan ditolak.I wish I could upload all the pictures taken while I was in Dubai,Dammam and Johannesburg for your viewing pleasure but it seems that my camera's micro sd memory card is way beyond fixable. It was corrupted by a virus that has been lingering around in Sweetie Pie's pen drive.Thank you for sending your 'love',Sweetie Pie...*in sarcasm*.Besides receiving bad news bout a colleague(whom I just recently flown with)'s mystery death in Amsterdam, overall I had a major fun in Johannesburg with all the monkeys and elephants there =)

January 25th-26th
I was scheduled to attend a 2day communication course at the academy, but after brunch break,I was released home. They'd mistakenly scheduled me for the exact same course twice!I didn't even remember the fact that I've attended the course back in 2008,but who could? It was 3 freakin' year ago!Due to the complication,I was rewarded with an extra off day.Yes!

February 4th
It was the 2nd day of Chinese New Year and Sweetie Pie invited me to come along to an ex-schoolmate's wedding reception at TTDI.Since I had nothing better to do that evening,I decided to tag along to the wedding reception after a hair cut at the salon. It wasn't a major haircut, just an inch or two frm the bangs tht I recently grew.

The reception was just as divine as the couple, except for the cake.Having a cake with two school badges printed on it is a major cliche. We are not in high school anymore, for God's sake, leave the school spirits at a place where it should belong, not on a wedding cake. But who am I to criticize anyway? It was their day,so they deserved to have the best of everything.Congratulations guys!Oh,another thing!Just a reminder to ladies out there. If you don't wana be called "Pantyliner" at a wedding full of judgmental guys around, please do wear an appropriate undies underneath your dress.I'd recommend a G-string underneath a dress like that =)

Feb 5th-10th
It was time for a visit to the Down Under again.Nothing much to tell about my Melbourne and Sydney flight, except that the flights to and from the Down Under is getting crazier by the day.80% of the passengers on our Aussie flights are Indians (who wished they were Australians) nowadays, and you know how crazy a flight can be if it is filled with Indians.I've tweeted bout my depression and anger that I felt towards them on Twitter,so I'm not gonna do it again here. They will remain as difficult, annoying, and pathetically desperate for attention as they've always been no matter how many times I've blogged or tweeted bout them.So I rest my case~ Just 1 teeny bit of interesting info to be shared. Our company just recently relocated us in Melbourne to a hotel situated at a very posh street there. Our hotel itself is located inside a Starhill-like shopping mall with the biggest Louis Vuitton boutique in Melbourne standing a few yards away frm the hotel! It was super exciting!=D While I was Foursquare-ing in Sydney, utilizing the complimentary WiFi connection at a nearby McDonalds,I received a happy news frm Ayah saying that the booking of Seri Endon Hall in Putrajaya for my wedding reception in January 2012 was completed and successful.Despite being big, beautiful, and with lots of parking space,it became my choice of venue for my big day's reception as it holds a strong memory of Sweetie Pie and I.I'm not gona spill anything more than that,so just keep coming bck to this blog for more updates.

February 11th
My family and I was invited for a Yee Sang dinner with Ayah's chinese friends at Chynna,Hilton KL Sentral.I don't have that much of Yee Sang dinner experiences but I do have a cheongsam all the way frm Shanghai for such occasions=) Dinner was good and unique as the waiters there were trained with all sorts of kungfu-like stunts when serving us tea and the dishes.I was totally blown away with their moves. But the best part of having Yee Sang dinners with Chinese would be the angpows they handed to you at the end of it.Well, thts just the beauty of being single, might as well enjoy it while I can =)

February 15th
It was our so-called Valentines' Day out.We don't believe in Valentines' Day but we've always believed in showing appreciation and showering love towards our partner by taking him/her out on a date with a surprise gift for remembrance. We went to Pavilion for barang hantaran hunting, and in between,we decided to grab a bite at Wendy's,outside of Pavilion at Jln Sultan Ismail. While enjoying our mushroom melts,it rained cats and dogs.In order to return to Pavilion, where our car was parked,we had no choice but to struggle through the heavy rain.So we ended buying these cute disposable rain coats at a 7eleven next to Wendy's....

It was 1 hell of a great date.We managed to find what we looked for and on top of that,we got to exchange gifts that we bought for each other.Guess what Sweetie Pie got for me....

A pile of new books! To be exact, there are 7 of them and I should definitely start with 1 right after this.No other gifts are gona be better than those.Thank you,Sweetheart!=)

I guess that's all for now..Do not forget to keep coming bck coz ARRESted For Life is definitely bck in business! =D

Maintenance Under Progress

Dear loyal readers of Arrested For Life ,

I won't be blogging until further notice. Reasons for not blogging :

* Macbook was sent to Machines due to a problem with its screen but she's all good now,but then

*all pictures from my camera failed to be transferred to my Macbook or any other lappies.I think some friggin' jealous virus is continuously attacking this poor Samsung to avoid me frm posting fine beautiful pictures to my blog entries.Shessshhh!

*I'm currently sticking my nose to either the screen of my iPhone playing games or the pages of Harry Potter books.Such a belated little thing, coz for all that we know the last Harry Potter book was published in 2007.Well,it took me some time to develop such interest on fantasy trilogies.

*my flying schedule is jam packed with flights, especially next month. Not to complain but they literally scheduled me to all Aussie stations in 1 tiny February!I'll be skin and bones by the end of February for working too hard =P

*wedding preparations?Hell no!I'm the famous last minute girl. But since certain individual just wouldn't stop nagging for being so laid-back bout this whole matter,I've started gathering informations and making phone calls.

*I want more of my blog readers to follow my Twitter @ http://twitter.com/#!/DennAhmad.Updates guaranteed ;D

Until my toppled little world is well placed again, you folks take care of yourselves and your loved ones.I'd p be back sooner than you thought.Till then!

Full House

I hope it is not too late for me to wish everyone in this world a very Happy New Year!!!!

New Year resolutions?Nada! It had always been the same resolutions over the years and I accomplished them every single time =D So,no resolutions this year.2010 was a great one,I'm hoping 2011 will be even greater with more traveling, family time, adventures, laughters while the spark between Sweetie Pie and remains the same.Or even more sparkly than a shiny diamond =)

Last Sunday,my family became the perfect 4 again, for good.My baby brother moved back into our house, along with 2 large luggage bags and 3 boxes full of his craps from Auckland. We were all so very happy to have him back, but I 'd hafta deal with a nasty bathroom mate again.Haha.No offense bro!

He came back with 'Shaggy' frm Scooby Doo look =P
These were his craps..See what I mean?
The big boxes were mailed via courier.
Little Ms Custom Inspector was inspecting all of the stuffs and boxes, making sure they were all properly filtered.

It's a full house again at our crib in 2011!This should be interesting.

Briefing,Karaoke And Shopping

Earlier today, all of us in the B777 conversion class had to submit our reports at the academy frm 8.30am til 11am.After submission,we were free to go home so most of us decided to spend some time together having fun.

So we ended up with the idea of lunch and karaoke at Red Box,Sunway Pyramid.I totally forgot when was the last time I went for karaoke.Seriously,it has been awhile coz singing is sooooo not my thing. It's not my thing coz I don't have a good voice,as simple as that.Hehe.But watching others sing never failed to amuse me.

Lunch at Red Box was not that good, but luckily a few of us including myself managed to grab some lunch at the academy before proceeding to Sunway.Man,those enjoyed singing really had a great time screaming their lungs out on their favourite tunes while I just sat there giggling and laughing to watch their amateur performances. Some got carried away with their songs while some acted as if they were American Idols.Hahaha..It was super fun!

After Red Box,my best guy buddies and I decided to go for some gadget and accessory shopping at Lowyat Plaza.Since I haven't properly introduced my guy friends to Sweetie Pie,I invited Sweetie Pie along to join us at Lowyat Plaza.I was relieved to see that all of them could get along well and shared lots of conversations with each other. All 5 of us basically have the same interest which is our personal electronic gadgets, mainly our 'Apples'.We wondered around the plaza looking for our gadget accessories and ended up having dinner at Kopi Club, where we (or to be specific,Khairul) illegally cracked the passcode for its WiFi connection which was never meant to be used for free!=P

All of us got so caught up installing and updating our gadgets at the dinner table til the time showed 8pm!Time to head home and each of us ended up bringing home a plastic bag filled with gadget accessories.

It was one hell of a day but we realized that we'll never get a day like this in the future anymore.Sweetie Pie will start working at a new place this Monday, while the remaining 4 of us will make our on way in the blue skies.Sad,sad,sad...=(

The boys.

Christmas In Shanghai,Boxing Day In Melbourne

You know what Christmas and Boxing Day means to me?Discounts and knocked down prices all over the place!!The only thing you're supposed to do is shop til you drop on your knees in exhaustion =P

Last week has been pretty hectic to me.I've been juggling flights and dates with Mr Fiance in between classes.I had no idea how I did it,but I managed to get through it with grace.

A day before Christmas,we departed frm KL to Shanghai with super heavy load of passengers on board. When we reached Shanghai at noon, the outside temperature was already less than 10degrees Celsius so imagine the temperature there at night. But we still proceed with our plan to shop by exploring a new shopping place at a subway station. It was a place where you could get branded stuffs at bargain prices, but I doubt the authenticity of the stuffs. As you all might knew,I never supported piracy and imitations so I ended up not buying that much of stuffs.Just some souvenirs for me to bring back home.My colleagues went crazy bargaining for all sorts of items frm bags to clothes and gadgets.

Hate to say this, but I find it amusing to watch buyers get scolded or called out with names by the seller whenever the seller feels that prices offered by potential buyers are ridiculously low.And note this,I only find it funny if it happens in China.Well, most Chinese sellers can't converse well in English so when tourists bargain for better prices, they will either use calculators or sign language to counter the offers. Some will shout out "You're crazy, you're crazy! This price,no business for me!!".Bargaining with non-English speaking Chinese sellers is the best part of the shopping experience =D

Snapping a moment in between bargains.

I hopped to the Down Under frm the Orient just before Boxing Day.Well, the thing I hate bout this country is the fact that their shops are closed down from business as early as 6pm,except on a Boxing Day.When I reached there,I dozed out til 4pm at noon and it also meant that I didn't have much time left to shop before the shops around town were closed. There were a few shops that extended their business hours due to Boxing Day,so I managed to grab a few favourite stuffs that I normally get for myself in Australia.

Nothing specifically interesting happened while I was in Melbourne but not far frm our hotel,Melbourne's Aquarium was having hammer head sharks in their tanks for a limited time.I'd really love to see those and also some cute penguins in their tuxedos at the aquarium but our stay there wasn't tht long and sufficient enough to explore more of Melbourne. But the nxt time I drop by,I'd definitely visit the aquarium although it'll cost me AUD64 for the entrance fee.

I hope it is not too late to wish you folks a Merry Christmas and keep enjoying your holidays while you're in the festive mood=)

Malaysia VS Indonesia's Suzuki Cup

Malaysia's team really did us proud by doing well in the most recent Suzuki Cup tournament eh?After years of losing, they finally achieved the champion title.Even Ferdinand frm Manchester United congratulated Malaysia's team through his tweet Twitter. That was totally something, wasn't it?

To those who did not follow me on Twitter or Foursquare, you might not have guessed that I actually went to Stadium Putra,Bukit Jalil to watch the game Malaysia against Indonesia last Sunday. It was a spontaneous decision that Sweetie Pie and his friends did,by purchasing tickets for the game.I was included in their spontaneous little plan,of course.

When I was younger,Ayah used to bring us the whole family to Shah Alam stadium for football games on weekends. Those days,in between the year 1996 and 1997,we were die hard fans of the Selangor football team as they were pretty famous and unbeatable. We enjoyed the weekly routine to the stadium and loved watching most of the games.Ayah even bought us matching Selangor jerseys and caps to be worn during the games. So,my last visit to Stadium Putra reminded me on how much I used to enjoy watching hot guys passing and kicking balls around the field.

That Sunday evening,we arrived at the stadium a little later than we planned so it was hard for us to find proper seats with a great view of the field.Man,the stadium was jam packed with fanatic fans! After several minutes of wondering around the stadium looking for empty available seats,we managed to find a few vacant ones but guess where the seats were situated at?At the specific zone where all Indonesian fans were seated at!We had no other better options,so seating among the opponents seemed pretty good to us.We kept a very low profile while seating in between those 'red and white' fans, and were almost unnoticeable. But some Malaysian fans were just being typical Malaysians. They provoked the opponents by doing some nasty annoying stuffs that caused trouble and chaos around the area. When the situation were out of hands,a few policemen came to sort things out.

I'm telling you that I totally freaked out when the opponent fans started bombarding harsh words back to the provoking Malaysians and throwing non-empty mineral water bottles towards the field which hit most of the FRU members on guard by the field.

I had no idea what actually happened but all of a sudden, red thick smoke started spreading into thin air.And I was positive that the smoke was initiated by a Malaysian fan.

The night was one hell of an experience which I do not wish to face anymore.I've imagined bad things that could've happened to us while vulnerably seated at the wrong part of the stadium and the Malaysian team scoring more than one goal. But Alhamdulillah, all of us managed to get out of the stadium in one perfect piece after the game ended..Phewww!!Although the experience was a little scary,it was still enjoyable and fun to do something like it after years of leaving the sight of stadiums and football games. Thanks Sweetie Pie =)

Seating among the opponents wasn't such a good idea.Never ever repeat our mistake, folks!

Drill Day

Little did I know, yesterday was our last day of the 777 course.Sad moments....*sighs*.But before we come to that part,we've had our memorable moments during practical drills.

The list of drills that we went through were smoke drill, door and emergency evacuation drill, slide drill and last but not least wet/pool drill.Drill day was a pretty stress-free day as the important exams have all been seated,so it was time to have some fun!The last time we had these much fun going through all the drills in one day was 6 years ago.Back then,we were flight steward/stewardess trainees at the academy.

First stop was the smoke drill.I'll explain to you folks the process of this drill. It'd always started with each an everyone of us having to fight a fire initiated inside the smoke house using a BCF.After it was completed, the professionals would fill the smoke house with smoke and arranged the interior of the smoke house with obstructions. We were required to enter the dark and smoke filled smoke house 2 by 2 til we found the exit on the opposite side of the smoke house. It was always challenging to walk through the dark and obstructed smoke house, and some of us even got themselves confused when finding the exit. Some took less than 5minutes to escape frm the disaster while some kept going round and round the smoke house, lost their way in finding the exit. The situation portrayed the real situation of an emergency crash where all powers would be shut down automatically and smoke filling the aircraft cabin due to the crash. All you need to do would be staying low, avoiding yourselves frm inhaling too much of toxic smoke and walk your way out of the aircraft cabin.

These were our cheerful morning faces before having to enter the smoke house.

Next stop was the 777 mockup for our door/emergency evacuation drill. This was a drill which all of us hafta brush our emergency command skills by shouting "Emergency, emergency!Heads down, grab ankles and remain seated!" and "Evacuate, evacuate!Release seat belts, leave everything, heels off!Come this way!" as loud as possible. My classmates went hysterical and crazy joking around and laughing when bizarre situations were given by our instructor for us to imply with. One of the craziest situation was all of us were to act as handicapped passengers that chartered the whole flight and suddenly a prepared crash land was about to hit us.Most of us were either leg-less or deaf and dumb,so the operating crews had to think of a way on how to brace us for the crash and how to help us out of the mishap.Like I said earlier,my classmates went crazy acting like total handicaps just to make things more difficult for the operating crews.I just couldn't stopped laughing and holding myself frm taking a visit to the loo,so I stormed out the mockup area straight to the washroom without asking for any permission in mid of the situation. When I came back, most of my classmates were laughing at me as they were assuming that I was either about to vomit, couldn't stand myself frm doing 'big business' at the loo or just plain hysterical!Crazy people!Sheessshhh...

This was one of the situations when 'passengers' panicked during a ditching emergency by wrestling and pushing the operating crews away.It looked more like they were playing American football, weren't they?=)

The favourite of all drills came next, the slide drill!Yeay!!Most of us loved jumping down the slide as we were no longer allowed to go down the playground slides.Well, for those who never had a clue what the slides were for, slides would automatically deployed during a crash landing and doors were opened in the emergency armed mode. All passengers and crews must go down the slides to escape.

I wonder if we would still be smiling such way after going down the slides during a real crash landing situation =P

The last drill of the day, which was our least favourite drill was the wet/pool drill. It was such a shame that I didn't get to capture any kodak moments during the drill as we were all busy surviving in our yellow life jackets in the pool.Swimming and floating using the life jackets in our uniforms was seriously tough,no joking matter.Remember there was  an incident where a fishing boat capsized at the Straits of Malacca and one of the fishermen survived after 15hours of floating in the sea?I don't know he did it,but I sure respected his sea survival skills!

It was a wrap for the day after the wet drill. It was hard to say goodbye after seeing each other every day in class for almost 3weeks now,but at the same time we just couldn't wait to invade the blue skies again. The blue skies is where we all belong. But just as I left the parking space at the basement, while driving my way out the academy compound, there was a loud BOOM sound and my car swerved to the left and went out of control!I drove it to an available parking space nearby and saw that my left tyre was completely punctured!Luckily, most of my classmates were still around the academy area so most of them saw me trying to change the tyre on their way out. Most of them stopped and helped out.I don't know what I'd do without them. One of them even said it was their first attempt of changing a 4WD car's tyre but still, guys are totally meant to change tyres while ladies should just sit by the curb and wait=P

To Khairul,Nizam,Fahmi,Hairi,Zamri,Getot and Mandy...you guys are the best!My Nautica was totally in good hands=)

It was an unfortunate tragedy, but overall,I had a great day.The day ended with Sweetie Pie coming by to get my Nautica a new spare tyre at the nearest workshop, then later to Sushi Zanmai at Sunway Pyramid for some delicious sushis at tea time. After all I've gone through in one day,I retired for bed at 9 last night.Man,I was exhausted!

Wet Run

Hey folks! It's lunch time on a cloudy beautiful Friday.Well,as most of you might know that ladies will get extra rest and free time on Fridays while the Muslim gentlemen go for their prayers. So,that's why I'm here blogging right now =)

Just like to share our 'wet run' experience last two days during our service procedure course.Ok,basically 'wet run' is a term used for practical session on service procedure. Why 'wet'?Because there were real food and beverages served during our practical, catered by our company's sky caterer.

This is how a 'wet run' is organized.A few crews will be assigned as the operating crew while the rest will act as passengers on board. The unlucky operating crews will lay out their duties as per procedure according to their working positions,as if it is a real flight. The 'wet run' is performed from the start where all passengers (non-operating crews) boarded and seated in the mock up (aircraft model),to services on ground and inflight, til the end of flight when we finally land.

Still can't imagine it?

I'll share some pictures here...FYI,official photographer of that day was yours truly =)

Boarding of 'passengers'...
Pre-departure services...
After take-off : Cocktail service...
...followed by serving of our signature satay...

Then the pre-plated appetizer and main course dish...
...and finally the serving coffee/tea and dessert.

The food were mouth-watering,weren't they?I didn't get to taste much as I was wondering around the cabin snapping pictures but I bet they tasted similar like those we served on board. The operating crews performed well during our wet run and despite the hectic-ness,they still managed to have some fun in the galley while preparing food for us.

Cheers,guys!

I hope you folks got a better picture on how our wet run was performed with the images above. We made perfect practices to deliver the best to our customers.

So folks, book a ticket with us and you'll some of these familiar cheerful faces on board.Last but not least, experience our Malaysian Hospitality =)
